Portuguese man found dead after falling into Galicia's River Lima
A 50-year-old Portuguese citizen was discovered dead in the River Lima near Lobios, Ourense, after authorities were alerted late Tuesday night.
Late on Tuesday, a 50-year-old Portuguese man was found dead in the River Lima at Lobios, in the province of Ourense, Galicia, Spain. Authorities were notified at 23:50 after a caller reported the individual had fallen onto rocks along the riverbank in a remote, steep location. Emergency crews from the regional 112 service conducted a difficult recovery operation and declared the man deceased at the site.
His body was transferred to Hospital Universitário de Ourense where a post-mortem examination was performed. Investigators believe the fatal fall occurred from a bridge situated roughly 51 kilometres from a national highway. The incident remains under review by local officials.
