Posco introduces cleaning and service robots at Seoul headquarters to enhance safety and efficiency
Posco has deployed robotic systems for exterior building cleaning and customer-service tasks at its Seoul headquarters, aiming to reduce hazardous work and boost operational efficiency.
Posco, together with its facility-management affiliate Posco Wide, has rolled out a suite of robots at its Seoul headquarters to modernise building upkeep and visitor services. A curtain-wall cleaning robot started daily operation on September 5, following tests on lower floors, and is the first of its kind in Korea, reducing workers’ exposure to dangerous high-altitude tasks. Additional robots handle interior floor cleaning, parking-lot maintenance and beverage delivery, processing roughly 100 orders a day in the business lounge.
A robotic barista also serves coffee in the Steel Gallery’s rest area. The company tested cleaning robots since March, visited a Shanghai exhibition to source suitable systems, and plans to expand robotic use for other hazardous and repetitive duties across its facilities.
Why it matters
The deployment shows how large manufacturers are using robotics to improve workplace safety and operational efficiency.
