Possible drone sighting causes temporary delays at Nuremberg Airport
A suspected drone was reported by three pilots during take-off and landing at Nuremberg Airport, prompting police searches and brief flight disruptions.
In the early morning, three pilots at Nuremberg Airport each reported spotting an object that could have been a drone during take-off or landing sequences. The Grenzpolizeiinspektion Nürnberg-Flughafen coordinated with the Albrecht-Dürer-Airport and Deutsche Flugsicherung to conduct immediate search and detection operations, deploying a police helicopter among other resources. No drone was found during the sweep.
The precautionary measures caused temporary interference with airport operations, resulting in two arrivals and four departures being delayed. Additionally, two incoming flights were rerouted to Cologne and Prague as a safety measure before they were allowed to continue to Nuremberg.
