Powerus begins producing Guardian drone interceptors at new UAE plant
U.S. defense firm Powerus has started assembling its Guardian anti-drone system in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to boost regional defense capacity.
Powerus is supplying training, components and software to a local Emirati contractor to build one outlet interceptor on site. The new facility is slated to output about 30 units daily, with plans to reach 100 per day. The move reflects Gulf states' push for locally sourced defense after Iranian drone and missile strikes strained supplies of U.S. interceptors. A separate Saudi-U.S. joint venture is also setting up a plant near Riyadh to produce combat drones modeled on Iran's Shahed system.
