PP and Vox denounce alleged cash-filled suitcases linked to Zapatero

A recent exclusive claims that entrepreneur Julio Martínez, known as “Julito,” acted as a front for former Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero by making ten to fifteen overseas trips with suitcases that were reportedly full on departure and empty on return. The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office is investigating whether the bags held stacks of cash that were subsequently transferred to a foreign bank account. The PP responded on its official X account, suggesting the luggage fits a pattern of alleged PSOE corruption, while its Senate spokesperson Alicia García mocked Zapatero’s rhetoric on socialism.

Vox’s European Parliament leader Jorge Buxadé also shared the allegation, framing it as evidence of a corrupt network. Other PP members, including Edurne Uriarte and Rosa Romero, added further accusations, linking the alleged cash movements to broader claims of insider benefits and questioning the involvement of current leaders.
