PP senators chant 'resign' at Interior Minister over Ceuta crisis

In a contentious Senate hearing, the People's Party (PP) bench repeatedly shouted “resign, resign” at Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska after party spokesperson Alicia García listed ten arguments for his removal tied to the recent crisis in Ceuta. García highlighted the dangerous situation that police and Guardia Civil units endured, the partial release of CNI alerts, the departure of the deputy chief of the Ceuta delegation, and other operational shortcomings.

Marlaska responded by labeling the CNI alerts as baseless rumors and blamed the opposition for creating false narratives. He affirmed he would remain in his post despite the accusations. Throughout the exchange, PP senators maintained the chant for nearly a minute, clapping and banging their seats, while Senate President Pedro Rollán intervened to calm the chamber.
