Practical Magic 2 Leads Weekend Box Office, Ending Spider-Man's Run

The long-awaited sequel Practical Magic 2, reuniting Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, pulled in $13 million on its opening Friday and is expected to close the weekend around $30 million, displacing Spider-Man: Brand New Day from the top spot after six weeks. While the new film enjoys strong box-office numbers, it has not won over critics; Clarisse Loughrey rated it two stars and labeled it a cash-grab sequel that adds little to the original story.
