Praktiker stores in Greece rebranded as Dedeman amid extensive renovations

Praktiker Hellas is being renamed Dedeman, beginning with the Tavros outlet and set to roll out across all 17 Greek stores.

After 35 years in Greece, the Praktiker brand will disappear as the chain adopts the Dedeman name, starting with the Tavros store and eventually covering all 17 outlets. The shift comes after Praktiker Hellas came under the control of Paval Holding, the Romanian investment group that owns the Dedeman DIY chain, in the summer of 2025. Since the takeover, the new owners have absorbed Adam Logistics and Petral, completed two rounds of capital increases, and begun overhauling the supply and network management systems.

Renovations accompany the rebranding, and Romanian-manufactured Dedeman private-label goods will be stocked in the Greek stores. The move aims to boost sales and restore profit after a modest decline in turnover and a widening loss in 2024, with the 2025 financial results still pending.

Why it matters

The rebrand signals consolidation in the Southern European DIY market and could affect pricing and product choices for Greek consumers.
