President Prabowo Subianto has earmarked funds totaling billions of rupiah for wildfire response in South Sumatra and four districts, and officials stress transparent use.
President Prabowo Subianto directed a wildfire assistance package that includes Rp30 billion for South Sumatra Province and Rp20 billion each for the Ogan Komering Ilir and Musi Banyuasin district administrations, plus Rp15 billion for Ogan Ilir and Banyuasin. Minister Antoni emphasized that the disbursement must be accountable and transparent to both the state and the public. Existing support from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, the military, police and regional budgets will complement the new allocation. Provincial and district leaders will coordinate with the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency to purchase equipment and mitigate health impacts from forest and land fires.
