President Herzog reduces the duration of Elor Azaria's criminal record

President Isaac Herzog approved Elor Azaria's request to shorten the period his criminal record remains on file, signing the decision on September 19.

On the eve of Yom Kippur, President Isaac Herzog signed a decree that will reduce the time Elor Azaria's criminal record is retained. The President's Residence said the move considered the full circumstances of the case and aligns with the spirit of the Days of Mercy and Forgiveness. Azaria had previously sought this relief nearly a decade after the incident that sparked national debate.
