President Karol Nawrocki vetoes three pending bills on elections, political advertising and ECHR rulings

President Karol Nawrocki refused to sign three draft laws, including changes to the Electoral Code, rules on political advertising, and a bill on enforcing European Court of Human Rights decisions.

Karol Nawrocki exercised his veto power on three separate pieces of legislation currently before the Sejm. One bill seeks to amend the Electoral Code, another defines the competent bodies and procedures for political advertising, and the third concerns the implementation of judgments from the European Court of Human Rights. Each proposal carries its own parliamentary print number. The president’s refusal halts their progress pending further action.

Why it matters

The veto blocks key changes to election rules, campaign oversight, and human-rights enforcement, affecting Poland's legal framework.
