President Lee Jae Myung to Lead Second Deregulation Plenary on Advanced Industries

President Lee Jae Myung will chair a second plenary of the regulation rationalization committee this Friday to discuss easing rules for high-tech sectors.

President Lee Jae Myung is set to preside over the second plenary meeting of the regulation rationalization committee on Friday, following an initial session held in April. The gathering aims to identify regulatory bottlenecks that impede the development of advanced industries, including robotics, semiconductors, artificial-intelligence data centers, self-driving cars and biotech. Participants will propose measures to streamline unnecessary rules to boost venture-company growth.

Attendees will comprise senior officials from Cheong Wa Dae and ministries covering finance, science, interior, industry, health, labor, land and others, alongside experts from local firms. The discussion aligns with the Lee administration’s broader plan to promote balanced regional development and secure global leadership in cutting-edge sectors. Outcomes are expected to feed into the government’s development strategy focused on high-growth industries.
