President Nawrocki pledges to champion Polish farmers at rural harvest ceremony
President Karol Nawrocki and his wife Marta attended the Presidential Harvest Festival in Tryńc, Podkarpacie, where he highlighted farmers' challenges and vowed continued support.
The annual Presidential Harvest Festival was held in Tryńc, Podkarpacie, marking its first occurrence outside Warsaw in seven years. President Karol Nawrocki, accompanied by his spouse Marta, opened the ceremony with a mass and then delivered a speech that praised the role of farmers in sustaining Poland’s food supply and cultural heritage. He outlined the sector’s current hardships, including droughts, floods, soaring costs for fuel and fertilizers, and pressure from imports beyond the European Union.
Nawrocki pointed to the Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas, established early in his term, as a vehicle for policy advice and legislative proposals. He also referenced his initiative to prolong the ten-year prohibition on the sale of Polish farmland and stressed that rural development must not curtail farm operations. Concluding, he thanked the agricultural community and reaffirmed his commitment to act as a guardian of the Polish countryside.
