President Nicușor Dan warns of public order threat in Călin Georgescu's tour

President Nicușor Dan commented on Călin Georgescu’s ongoing tour across Romania, emphasizing that while any politician may hold rallies, the public should evaluate the facts about Georgescu. Dan highlighted that Georgescu is currently under investigation, with a notable case accusing him of attempting to disrupt public order together with the Potra group, allegedly transporting weapons. He called for society to sift through the available information and for pending suspicions to be pursued by the courts.

Dan also recalled Georgescu’s earlier statements questioning Russia’s war in Ukraine, NATO’s role in border protection, and the benefits of EU membership for Romania. Although he defended Georgescu’s political freedom, Dan warned that the ability of such messaging to attract followers signals a broader communication crisis in politics.
