Presidential aide vows swift, thorough probe of DMZ blasts that wounded three soldiers

During President Lee Jae Myung’s state visit to Mexico, a senior presidential aide confirmed that an objective, rapid, and comprehensive investigation has been launched into the suspected mine explosions that occurred on Monday in the Demilitarized Zone, injuring three South Korean soldiers. Authorities will conduct forensic analysis of the collected fragments to identify the mines’ origin, classification, and whether they were buried by North Korea.

The investigation is being carried out in close cooperation with the United Nations Command, given the hazardous nature of the new reconnaissance route where the blasts took place. Officials emphasized that no cover-up is being considered and that findings will be released as soon as possible.
