Prime Minister Anwar to brief Cabinet on Khazanah's 2026 Megatrends Forum

At the next Cabinet session, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to deliver a briefing based on a paper from Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s Megatrends Forum 2026. The forum, themed “Who’s Got the Power? Watching the Watchmen in an Imbalanced World,” aims to analyse the shifting nature of power and its impact on governments, economies and institutions.

While avoiding a direct focus on the source of power, the discussion will probe who determines rules, controls resources and reaps benefits in a world marked by growing imbalances. The event will bring together a mix of policymakers, corporate executives, investors, scholars and other stakeholders to assess these global trends and their relevance for Malaysia, the region and the wider economy. Anwar highlighted the need for accountability, urging powerful actors to remain open to scrutiny. The paper’s findings will inform the Cabinet’s deliberations on future policy directions.
