Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Mureșan submits sweeping labour and social aid reforms to parliament

In his governing agenda, Siegfried Mureșan proposes eliminating early retirement schemes in systems with rapid pension accrual and prohibiting the combination of public-sector pensions with salaries. Uniform assessment criteria for disability-aid recipients are to be introduced, and the Social Dialogue Law and collective contracts will be revised to curb excessive rights. The proposal encourages workforce mobility by matching regions with unemployment to those with labour deficits, and it phases out social benefits for employable individuals, conditioning them on work or training participation.

Part-time and seasonal employment will see contributions aligned with real income, while illegal work will be combated via risk-analysis inspections. The programme maintains the EU-funded NEET hiring subsidy and adds support for junior IT positions, alongside expanding dual education and apprenticeship schemes with incentives for firms that train and retain staff.
