Princess Kate shines in purple gown at London premiere of Tom Cruise’s film Digger

The Princess of Wales and Prince William joined Tom Cruise for the Royal Film Performance, which also served as the world premiere of Cruise’s new movie Digger, held at the Odeon in Leicester Square. Kate Middleton turned heads in a purple Jenny Packham gown featuring flared sleeves and a coordinating necklace, while William complemented her in a black velvet jacket. After greeting cheering crowds, the royal pair were led into the screening by Cruise and later met filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu and officials from the Film and TV Charity, which supports industry workers.

The event follows William’s recent appearance selling popcorn at ActOne Cinema in Acton and comes as press questions focus on Earl Spencer’s controversial biography of Diana, Princess of Wales. Cruise has previously praised his friendship with William, noting their shared love of aviation. The Royal Film Performance, a tradition since 1946, raises funds for the charity’s mental-health and financial assistance programmes.
