Prison guard testimony on Le Priol's remarks faces fierce challenge in murder trial

In the trial concerning the killing of Federico Martín Aramburu, a prison guard from Fleury-Mérogis testified that he heard Loïk Le Priol talk about the bullets that were fired at the victim. The guard, described as a thirty-year-old with a beard, admitted he could not remember the exact words and relied on his written report. He said he was positioned behind the cell door and only saw Le Priol from behind, making it difficult to identify the conversation partner.

The lawyer for Aramburu’s widow urged the court to consider the guard’s testimony as evidence of Le Priol’s lack of remorse, while highlighting a discrepancy in the report’s date for a judicial appointment. Defense counsel argued that no phone, listening device, or prison layout plan was ever found, and suggested the guard might have been influenced by media coverage, casting doubt on his reliability. The hearing continued with the court reading portions of the guard’s report aloud.
