Prison recordings of Beau Lamarre-Condon reveal instructions to silence friend

Recorded calls from prison show accused murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon telling a friend to keep quiet about the killings of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

The Supreme Court heard recordings of Beau Lamarre-Condon speaking from prison to an unnamed friend in 2024 and 2025. In an April 8, 2024 call, Lamarre-Condon warned the friend, "Make sure you don’t talk to people about stuff," hinting at a cover-up of the February 19, 2024 murders of former Network Ten producer Jesse Baird and Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies. The friend, who had already given police statements, recounted Lamarre-Condon's purchase of a surfboard cover, his admission of killing two people, and plans to use police-issued ammunition in a Royal National Park drive.

Later, in a December 14, 2025 call, Lamarre-Condon discussed meeting the friend and referenced "big boy diapers," while also revealing suicidal thoughts and a desire to disappear after the killings. Prosecutors highlighted his attempts to obtain a silencer and his claim that entering Baird’s home was merely retrieving personal items. The trial continues as the Crown alleges he retained a police Glock pistol illegally and used it in the murders.

Why it matters

The recordings could provide critical evidence of Lamarre-Condon's role and attempts to hide a double homicide.
