Pro-America branded Freedom Coffee plans to open in San Francisco

Building permits show a new “Freedom” coffee shop, marketed as bold and unapologetically American, is slated to open on Polk Street in San Francisco.

City filings reveal that Freedom Coffee, a coffee shop brand that promotes a bold, unapologetic American identity, is preparing to open on Polk Street in San Francisco. The company’s online presence consists solely of a white, all-caps logo and a description that the coffee is “Brewed in the USA.” Business records name Katie Tolstedt as CEO, CFO and secretary of the venture, and her LinkedIn profile shows she is chief of staff to Eoghan McCabe, the Irish-born head of Fin, a provider of AI-driven customer-service solutions.

McCabe, who has invested in a local social club called the San Francisco Freedom Club, says the club has no plans to open a physical location and is not linked to the café. A removed job posting hinted at automated technology use and potential national expansion, while a patent filing suggests future merchandise such as hats and drinkware. Although McCabe has donated to Republican causes, the coffee shop itself carries no explicit partisan branding.

Why it matters

The venture blends political branding with tech-linked entrepreneurship, reflecting how cultural symbols are leveraged in new business concepts.
