Pro-Israel demonstrators disrupt Brooklyn Democratic forum featuring Adrienne Adams
Adrienne Adams, Gov. Hochul’s running mate, was heckled by pro-Israel protesters at a Brooklyn Democratic Party meeting.
At a Brooklyn Democratic Party forum hosted by former local party leader Frank Seddio, Adrienne Adams, the lieutenant-governor candidate, was confronted by pro-Israel protesters who shouted accusations of antisemitism. The event, held at the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club in Mill Basin, also included House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Attorney General Letitia James. Activist Stephanie Benshimol yelled that Jews are treated as second-class citizens, and the crowd booed her when she tried to ask Adams about safety for the city’s large Jewish population.
Adams left the venue without taking questions from reporters. Outside, additional protesters called for her to leave, while Seddio emphasized the club’s support for Israel. The incident occurred as Adams tours the state with Gov. Hochul ahead of the upcoming election.
