Pro-Israel lobby urges UK Home Secretary to ban Doctors Without Borders under terror law

UK Lawyers for Israel has submitted evidence to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, urging that Medecins Sans Frontieres be designated a terrorist organization under the Terrorism Act. The group points to statements by Palestinian Islamic Jihad that a physiotherapist killed in Gaza in 2024, Fadi Jihad Mohammed al-Wadiya, was a member, and to Israeli claims that driver Nasser Hamdi Abdelatif Al Shalfouh, killed in 2024, was a Hamas sniper.

MSF has publicly denied any knowledge of staff involvement in militant activities, stating the claims emerged only post-mortem and that no reliable information was ever shared with them. It also described the accusations as part of a broader disinformation campaign. In response, the Charity Commission said it is assessing the allegations, while the Fundraising Regulator confirmed it is also reviewing the case.
