Pro-life coalitions urge Trump administration to debar Planned Parenthood from federal contracts

At the GOP midterm convention in Dallas, a coalition of about 40 pro-life and religious organizations, coordinated by Students for Life president Kristan Hawkins, delivered a letter to senior members of the Trump administration. The missive, addressed to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Small Business Administration head Kelly Loeffler, calls for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of its qualified vendor status and debarred from any federal program, including Title X, Medicaid and sex-education funding.

The groups cite an ongoing SBA audit of 38 Planned Parenthood clinics’ eligibility for $88 million in PPP loans and a range of accusations from fraud to unsafe practices. They argue that administrative debarment can be applied without congressional approval and note prior Democratic use of the tool against contractors. The letter also references a New York one outlet's report on staff conditions and an American College of Pediatricians study on cross-sex procedures. Planned Parenthood, the SBA, HHS, DOJ and Treasury have not responded.
