Pro-life group urges DOJ to settle Louisiana case and halt mail-order abortion pills

SBA Pro-Life America, led by Marjorie Dannenfelser, renewed its call for Attorney General Todd Blanche to settle the Louisiana v. FDA lawsuit and immediately end mail-order abortion pills. The appeal references a recent Senate HELP Committee report by Bill Cassidy that documents “dangerous practices” by manufacturers such as Danco, GenBioPro and Evita Solutions, noting that 81 % of online providers ship mifepristone beyond the FDA’s 10-week gestational limit.

Dannenfelser argues a settlement before Sept. 9 would protect women and prevent the deaths of roughly 15,000 babies each month while the FDA finishes its safety review. She warned that the current system permits abusive individuals to obtain the drugs without medical screening, leading to poisoning and coercion. The lawsuit challenges a Biden administration rule permitting mail delivery of abortion medication without an in-person doctor visit, and the case is expected to resume on Sept. 9. The Department of Justice has not yet commented on the request.
