Warner Bros. and DC Studios announced that filming on "The Batman Part II" is on hold while director Matt Reeves attends to a family matter, receiving the studio's full backing. Robert Pattinson will return as Batman, joined by a supporting cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Sebastian Stan, Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright. The sequel has already faced several schedule shifts, moving from an original October 2026 opening to a February 2028 release after earlier postponements.
Reeves' first Batman film debuted in March 2022. DC Studios head James Gunn previously defended the delays as common for major franchises. In a recent interview, Pattinson described the upcoming film as a bold, distinct continuation of the story.
