Professor obtains access to basement documents linked to Rød-Larsen and Epstein probe

During a criminal investigation into Terje Rød-Larsen’s relationship with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Økokrim found multiple boxes of paperwork stored in the couple’s basement. The agency confiscated one box and transferred the remaining ones to the Utenriksdepartementet for further handling. Professor Hilde Henriksen Waave, who has long called for greater openness about the missing archives, was allowed to inspect the contents.

She suspects the documents could pertain to the Oslo peace negotiations of the early 1990s, in which Rød-Larsen and Mona Juul played key roles. Waave noted that processing the material has taken longer than expected. Her request follows earlier attempts, dating back to 2006, to view the same files.
