Prosecution Appeals Not Guilty Verdict in Ski Double Murder Case
A woman acquitted of killing her mother and brother in Ski has had the verdict appealed by prosecutors.
In a case stemming from a December 2024 double homicide in a house on Lysneveien, Ski, the court ruled that the woman who killed her mother, Marit (74), and brother, Håkon Taagerud (42), was not criminally liable due to a lack of culpability. She avoided imprisonment and forced psychiatric treatment but was required to compensate her surviving brother. The judgment was issued with dissenting opinions among the judges.
Prosecutors, led by Trude Elisabeth Sparre, had originally sought a lengthy prison term and have now lodged an appeal. Defense attorneys Andrea Wisløff and Trude Mohn King have not commented on the appeal.
