Protective orders issued for six students and teacher after 13-year-old's knife attack in Bistriţa
Police granted provisional protective orders for six pupils and a 28-year-old teacher following a stabbing by a 13-year-old at Ştefan cel Mare Middle School, and the attacker was fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet.
Bistriţa municipal police issued seven provisional protection orders on Tuesday night for six pupils of Ştefan cel Mare Middle School and the 28-year-old teacher who was attacked with a knife by a 13-year-old student. The young attacker, who remains detained in a child psychiatry clinic in Cluj-Napoca, was fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet. The orders, which include electronic surveillance, were granted after the victims’ parents asked for additional safeguards before the students resumed physical classes on Wednesday, following a day of remote instruction.
Among those protected is the boy initially targeted, reportedly for racial motives, and a classmate who intervened and was later hospitalized with multiple injuries. The teenager’s mother accompanies him during his institutionalisation.
