Protests Planned Outside Aviva Stadium Ahead of Ireland vs Austria Nations League Match

Activists from the Stop the Game campaign will demonstrate outside Dublin's Aviva Stadium before the Ireland-Austria Nations League game, which starts at 7.45 pm.

The Ireland-Austria Nations League fixture at the Aviva Stadium is set to be preceded by a protest organized by the Stop the Game campaign at 2 pm. This follows a previous incident where tennis balls were thrown during a home match against Qatar to protest Ireland's scheduled game with Israel. The Israel match has been relocated to Backa Topola in Serbia and will be played behind closed doors for security reasons. UEFA and the Football Association of Ireland are using the event as a rehearsal for the security arrangements planned for Euro 2028, which will involve a city-wide operation by An Garda Síochána.
