PSD deputy Rogobete mocks minister Buzoianu's probe of ANM luxury spending
Deputy Alexandru Rogobete ridiculed Minister Diana Buzoianu's investigation into alleged luxury purchases made with ANM credit cards, contrasting them with a highway environmental permit.
A recent audit by the Ministry of Environment found that five official cards of the National Meteorology Administration were used to buy luxury items such as high-priced lingerie, designer perfumes, branded apparel, cosmetics and ornamental flower pots. Minister Diana Buzoianu reported the findings, demanded the dismissal of ANM’s management and indicated that the report would be sent to the General Prosecutor. She also highlighted additional purchases, including smart watches and floral arrangements, made in the previous year. PSD deputy Alexandru Rogobete reacted on social media, mocking the minister’s "crusade" by comparing the controversy over a luxury bra to the pending environmental approval for the Sibiu-Pitești highway, and accusing the government of using the scandal to distract from more important matters.
