PSG Judo clinches historic third straight Champions League crown
PSG Judo secured a third consecutive Champions League title, defeating Red Star Belgrade 4-3 in a tightly contested final.
In a dramatic showdown at its Paris dojo, PSG Judo captured its third straight Champions League trophy, edging Red Star Belgrade 4-3. The victory mirrors a rare three-peat achieved only by Union Sportive Orléans Loiret Judo Jujitsu in the 1980s, before mixed competition existed. Joan-Benjamin Gaba opened the match with a win over Serbian opponent Sokic and later secured the final point with a yuko, while Olympic medalist Romane Dicko and Brazil's Shirlen Nascimento kept the team ahead throughout.
The squad managed the final without veteran Teddy Riner, who is taking time to recover. PSG had previously escaped a near-defeat in the quarter-finals against JC Konar, winning 4-3, and then dispatched SGS Judo of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois 4-0 in the semi-finals.
Why it matters
The win underscores PSG Judo's sustained dominance in European club judo and highlights emerging talent.
