Public sector heads urged to adopt hybrid work schedule amid haze
Malaysia's public-service department heads are advised to use the Hybrid Workday policy to keep performance levels while haze conditions persist.
During a ceremony in Kuala Terengganu, Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Dr. Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz urged heads of public-service departments to implement the Hybrid Workday (HBH) system as a response to the haze affecting the region. He emphasized that while the hybrid schedule can be used, each civil servant’s key performance indicators must remain intact to ensure service delivery. The comments were delivered at the Santini Pesara programme, attended by Terengganu Federal Development Department director Datuk Abdul Kahar Abdul Latif.
At the event, Wan Ahmad presented cash and basic necessities to three elderly retirees - Soh Kim Seah, 90; Rosnani Abdullah, 73; and Mohd Saadum Che Embong, 69. He also referenced the RM750 special financial aid for more than one million retirees announced in Budget 2027, underscoring the government's commitment to honour their contributions.
Why it matters
