Putrajaya schools shut tomorrow as haze reaches hazardous levels

All schools overseen by the Education Ministry in Putrajaya will be closed tomorrow due to unsafe haze conditions, with remote learning to be implemented.

In response to elevated haze readings, the Education Ministry's Putrajaya schools will not operate tomorrow, according to a statement from the Putrajaya Education Department. The decision follows Air Pollutant Index data recorded at 5 p.m. that signaled hazardous air quality. All affected institutions must shift to home-based teaching and learning, tailoring approaches to students' capabilities and resources.

Teachers and support personnel may also work remotely, subject to the education minister's discretion. Authorities will keep monitoring the API and will act according to ministry guidelines, while urging parents to remain alert to official notices and cooperate for their children's safety.

Why it matters

The closure safeguards students and staff from harmful air quality while ensuring education continues remotely.
