Qatar says Israel turned down Hamas cease-fire and hostage-release offer
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said Israel refused to consider Hamas’s proposal to free all civilian hostages in exchange for a short ceasefire.
In a conversation with Piers Morgan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani explained that Israeli officials declined to engage with Hamas’s plan to release civilian captives for a limited ceasefire. The proposal was presented shortly after the Oct. 7 attacks. Al Thani said Israel’s response was a clear rejection of the idea. No further negotiations were reported.
