Qatar says preparations for F1 and MotoGP will continue despite regional tensions

Despite the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran that has disrupted several international racing calendars, Qatar's Losail International Circuit and the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation are pressing ahead with preparations for the Formula 1 Grand Prix scheduled for late November and the MotoGP race at the same track. The World Endurance Championship had to postpone and eventually cancel its Qatar 1812 km event, moving its season finale to Monza, while the World Rally Championship will finish its season in Saudi Arabia.

Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai, president of the QMMF and the circuit, affirmed that the races remain on the timetable and that the country’s infrastructure, including a fully operational airport, is functioning normally. He noted that while the geopolitical climate is fluid, Qatar has demonstrated the ability to host large-scale sporting events safely and intends to monitor the situation closely over the coming weeks.
