They will face each other in a third, final televised debate on Wednesday in Montreal. In recent days, media inquiries have probed the likelihood of coalition talks should no party secure a majority.
Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon dismissed the idea of an alliance, even as rivals noted similarities between his platform and that of Conservative leader Éric Duhaime. According to poll aggregator Qc125, the Parti Québécois still leads the race, though analysts expect a minority outcome. Voters will head to the polls in early October to decide the province's next government.
