Queensland police confiscate over 1,400 weapons in first year of Jack's Law
In its first year as permanent legislation, Jack's Law has led Queensland police to seize more than 1,400 weapons and charge 1,400 offenders.
Since Jack's Law became permanent, Queensland police have conducted roughly 54,000 scans in the Brisbane area, resulting in the seizure of 300 weapons there and a total of over 1,400 firearms across the state. The operation has generated about 1,400 charges. Police Minister Dan Purdie confirmed that the confiscated arms have been destroyed at an e-recycling facility.
