QurCan Therapeutics partners with Eli Lilly to develop nucleic-acid therapies for nervous system disorders

QurCan Therapeutics has signed an exclusive research and collaboration agreement with Eli Lilly to advance non-viral nucleic-acid medicines for central and peripheral nervous system diseases.

QurCan Therapeutics announced an exclusive collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company to create non-viral genetic medicines targeting central and peripheral nervous system conditions. QurCan will apply its proprietary TERP™ polymer-lipid nanoparticle technology to optimise delivery of mRNA, DNA and oligonucleotides, while Lilly will be responsible for additional research, clinical trials and market launch of selected programmes.

The agreement provides an initial cash payment, strategic investment and milestone-linked funding, together with progressive royalties on worldwide net sales of commercialised products. QurCan CEO Mohammad Ali Amini highlighted the partnership as validation of the PLNP platform’s potential in a therapeutic area that remains largely underserved. Lilly brings extensive neuroscience expertise to help bring these treatments to patients in need.
