Rabbi assaulted with kicks and punches by three men in Milan bus stop
A 60-year-old rabbi was violently attacked while waiting for a bus in Milan's Bande Nere district by three suspected North-African men.
In Milan's Bande Nere neighborhood, a 60-year-old rabbi waiting for a bus was assaulted by three men who kicked, punched, removed his hat, stepped on him and spat at him. Walker Meghnagi, who leads the Jewish Community of Milan, reported that the assailants appear to be of Arab background and likely second-generation North Africans, and described the attack as unprecedentedly violent. He voiced profound distress over rising antisemitism in Italy.
Senate President Ignazio La Russa publicly denounced the episode, emphasizing that such hatred must be confronted decisively and that investigations should identify those responsible. Authorities have reportedly detained the three suspects, though further details await the investigation.
