Racing 92 snaps losing streak with 20-10 victory over La Rochelle

Racing 92 earned their first Top 14 win of the campaign, defeating La Rochelle 20-10 after two heavy opening losses.

Racing 92 entered the Top 14 season with two crushing defeats, losing 64-5 to Bordeaux-Bègles and 48-31 to Lyon, and were predicted to continue struggling. Defying expectations, they secured a 20-10 win over La Rochelle at the Marcel-Deflandre stadium, which was celebrating its centenary. Racing's defense improved markedly, allowing just a single try, while their offense was sparked by Max Spring's early try and a penalty kick from Prisciantelli that gave them the lead.

After a missed opportunity near the post, Prisciantelli added another penalty to extend the advantage, and Taofifenua's try in the final minutes sealed the result. Captain Max Spring praised the team's effort, calling it a hard-fought battle. The victory sets up upcoming fixtures, with Lyon currently leading the table after a big win over Pau.

Why it matters

Racing 92's win ends a poor start and could shift the early dynamics of the Top 14 season.
