Racovăț border crossing shut after Ukrainian drone crashes in Suceava

On Thursday morning a drone breached Romania's airspace, remaining aloft for about four minutes before crashing near the village of Solca in Suceava County. In response, the Racovăț-Diakivti border crossing, which links northern Moldavia with Ukraine, was sealed off at 8:00 a.m., preventing any vehicles from crossing in either direction. A queue of fifteen cars formed on the Romanian side as authorities cited safety concerns, noting that the Ukrainian side had also reported drone threats in its own airspace.

An RO-Alert warning was issued around 6:26 for Suceava and Botoșani counties. The Ministry of Defense sent two F-16 aircraft to oversee the incident, and the Police de Frontieră confirmed that there were no casualties or property damage.
