Radio France unions call strike over Valeurs Actuelles editor's role on France Inter

Union representatives from Radio France have called a strike to demand that the deputy director of Valeurs Actuelles, who presents a political editorial on France Inter, be removed from the role. The strike notice triggered a broadcast interruption on Sunday, with a recorded message replacing most of the station’s regular shows and preventing the planned Charles Sapin chronicle from airing. Workers warned that the mobilization will intensify on Monday, further disrupting the schedules of France Culture and Franceinfo, which were already impacted on Sunday.

No agreement or crisis management plan has been announced by the broadcaster. The dispute highlights tensions between the public broadcaster and a right-leaning publication over editorial influence. The situation remains unresolved as the unions maintain pressure for the editor’s dismissal.
