Rahul Gandhi vows to collect 100 FIRs as opposition presses CEC Kumar to quit

Rahul Gandhi declared a goal of 100 FIRs while opposition MPs kept up protests demanding the resignation of Election Commission chief Gyanesh Kumar.

Delhi Police filed a case after Rahul Gandhi and fellow opposition MPs entered Akashvani Bhavan en route to the Election Commission office, prompting Gandhi to quip that he aims for 100 FIRs, each a "medal". He currently faces 45 FIRs. The protest targets CEC Gyanesh Kumar, accused of making decisions without consulting the other election commissioners.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge blamed Prime Minister Modi for pressuring the EC and pledged that the opposition will keep raising public concerns. Kharge announced a sit-in at Jantar Mantar after police barred protests elsewhere, and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera highlighted Article 19 as the basis for their right to demonstrate.
