Ralph Norman blasts Trump’s endorsement after losing South Carolina Senate runoff

South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman, who was defeated by Darline Graham in the Senate runoff, spent two minutes on Capitol Hill denouncing Donald Trump’s endorsement of Graham as “shocking.” Norman, a longtime Trump ally who once suggested invoking martial law, highlighted the president’s on-the-ground rally, a subsequent telerally, and multiple social-media posts urging voters to choose Graham. Federal Election Commission filings show Trump’s super-PAC, MAGA Inc., poured more than $827,000 into pro-Graham outreach just days before the vote.

Norman struggled to explain why Trump would spend that amount in a primary between two Republicans, saying he did not understand the rationale. Although he praised Trump’s overall record, Norman admitted the interference was unexpected and said he would move on, even urging undecided voters to support himself if given the chance. Graham is now favored to keep the seat for the GOP.
