Ramelius Resources projects more than fivefold gold output by 2030
Australian miner Ramelius Resources announced plans to boost gold production to between 560,000 and 610,000 ounces by 2029/30, driven by new pits at Rebecca-Roe and an expanded Mt Magnet operation.
Ramelius Resources, a top-100 Australian gold producer, released an updated outlook that forecasts a 205% increase in total gold production from the 2025/26 level, aiming for 560,000-610,000 ounces by the 2029/30 fiscal year. The growth will be underpinned by the upcoming Rebecca-Roe greenfield project, which expects its first gold pour in the December quarter of 2028, and by a capacity expansion at the Mt Magnet processing plant that could lift throughput to about five million tonnes annually.
Chief executive Mark Zeptner said the company expects to generate more than $1.5 billion of free cash flow each year by 2030 while maintaining a leading cost position. He also noted that the firm returned roughly 65% of cash flow to shareholders in 2025/26 and has a $100 million share-buyback program running through one outlet financial year, though further return mechanisms are still being evaluated. Analysts praised the fully funded growth plan, pointing to Ramelius's cash, gold and investment holdings exceeding $1 billion. The company’s current production target for 2026/27 is 205,000-225,000 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,150-$2,350 per ounce, based on an assumed Australian-dollar gold price of $5,500.
Why it matters
The plan could significantly increase global gold supply and boost shareholder returns, affecting commodity markets and investors.
