Rapper Bratan faces deportation after traffic blockade for music video
Italian authorities have revoked Bratan's residence permit and ordered his immediate expulsion following a road blockade staged for a video shoot.
Bratan, a Moldovan-born rapper living in Italy for 17 years, participated in a traffic blockade on the Milano-Meda highway to film a music video, joining other artists and motorcyclists. The disruption created extensive vehicle queues during peak hours and sparked public outrage. Police from the mobile squad intervened, later raiding his Brera residence and discovering toy weapons.
The prefect deemed the blockade a threat to motorists and, referencing earlier convictions for weapons possession, illegal objects, and drug offenses, revoked his residence permit for social danger. An expulsion order was issued, with authorities planning to deport him from Malpensa airport today. His lawyer argues the measure is disproportionate and plans to appeal the decision.
