Rare Chuck E. Cheese animatronic band still performing at LA location

Visitors to the Chuck E. Cheese in Northridge, Los Angeles, witnessed the brand’s classic animatronic ensemble, Munch’s Make Believe Band, delivering a show every 45 minutes. The group, consisting of Mr. Munch on keyboards, Jasper T. Jowls on guitar, Helen Henny singing, and Pasqually on drums, performed on a stage with curtains, lights and props, prompting nostalgic comments on social media. While the chain has largely replaced animatronics with modern features such as dance floors and video walls, it declared in 2023 that the Northridge site would serve as a permanent home for the band.

David McKillips, President and CEO of CEC Entertainment, said the decision honors fans’ memories as the brand evolves. In addition to Northridge, three other restaurants - in Springfield, Illinois; Hicksville, New York; and Charlotte, North Carolina - are reported to still house the full band.
