Rare North Korean Rocket Launcher Seen on Ukrainian Frontline in New Video

A video from the Ukrainian front shows a defender destroying a Type-75, a 12-tube, 107 mm rocket launcher that originated from North Korea.

In a recently released video, Ukrainian troops are seen destroying a Type-75 rocket launcher, a 12-tube, 107 mm system imported from North Korea. War specialist Emil Kastehelmi explains that the launcher’s short 8-9 km range makes it vulnerable to drone attacks, requiring placement in a heavily contested kill zone roughly 25 km wide along the front. He adds that such weapons are uncommon in Ukraine, likely due to their limited utility compared to other artillery.

North Korean supplies to Russia are reported to include millions of artillery shells and hundreds of ballistic missiles, with some North Korean soldiers also fighting for Russia. The video underscores the broader involvement of North Korean weaponry in the conflict.

Why it matters

It reveals how rare North Korean arms are being used in Ukraine, highlighting the conflict's expanding arms supply chains.
