RCN says it remains neutral in gender-critical tribunal hearing

In the final day of evidence for Sandie Peggie’s employment tribunal, Ms Marquis, speaking for the Royal College of Nursing, declared the union has no official position on the contrast between gender ideology and biological sex. RCN lawyer David Hay KC had prompted the question, and Peggie’s barrister Naomi Cunningham pressed the issue by pointing to RCN-branded items and a post-Supreme Court ruling announcement that she said implied a negative view of the decision.
Marquis responded that Pride badges simply acknowledge members who identify in various ways and that any perceived mournful tone was unintentional and did not reference supporters of the ruling. The judge, Melanie Sangster, is presiding in Dundee, and the hearing remains ongoing.
